The bristles are soft and don't shed, but it can be a bit annoying to use. I'd find it folding often, but that's really it. It's very convenient and can also make nice little gifts!We love these. Kids drop them and leave them everywhere but they don’t get gross if they are left out because they fold. Breaks easily so probably not good for a long trip.First of all the bristles do not fit in the case so stick out, after using about a month the tip broke off while I was brushing my teeth, and created a 1/2 gash on my gum, blood everywhere. I was not brushing hard, these are just cheap and cost me a trip to the dentist-cheap cheap cheap and not well madeSharp edges. Top of toothbrushes is unfinished, rough, jagged. Complete waste of money.I bought this toothbrush set to use instead of the normal brush with a head cover for travelling.No cover by to lose, quicker to open and close so no wasting precious seconds. Keeps brush clean in the toiletry bag.Some negatives are that the brush hairs initially lost a couple of bristles and one annoyingly stuck out proud from the rest (repaired with nail clipper), plastics not the best for the environment. The inside handle is sharp and is slightly uncomfortable in the hand.I will recycle the old brushes but would love if the company used recycled plastics. Also if they could improve the quality a bit - it isn't terrible quality but could be improved to secure the bristles and handle comfort.
