This is a great camping pillow that will work on the cot of a rental cabin or on top of your sleeping bag when in a tent. This is a better solutions that what I am currently using. I used either a small inflatable camping pillow that has a minimal size (3 inches deep and 8 inches across) and a faux suede surface or I use a 12 X 12 foam stuffed outdoor pillow that is about 6 inches deep (which is a bit too high). This camping/travel pillow comes vacuum packed. When you remove it from the packaging it will expand to about 18 inches wide by 14 inches and about 4 inches in depth. The chunks of inner foam are of an appropriate size so that the foam filling spreads out evenly in the pillow. The outer cover of the pillow has a textured two tone color and it is zipped in place, so it can be removed to wash. The inner pillow fabric which holds all the foam bits also has a zipper so it too can be removed and washed without wetting the inner foam. The texture on the fabric cover will help reduce the tendency for a pillow to slip around on your sleeping pad or on the top of your sleeping bag. This pillow can be easily compressed and rolled up and inserted into it handy polyester carry bag. When rolled up this pillow is about the size of a small loaf of bread.
