Purchased for a new 3-piece luggage set (Olympia USA 21"/25"/29"). However, only intended to use on one (25") which we planned for check-in. Despite all the low/negative reviews on both the luggage and straps, I continued with my purchase only because I can't see myself purchasing a $1,000 luggage set --- I know, you get what you pay for. Our trip was a direct flight from CA to Hawaii. The luggage was filled with all liquid related sundries for a family of four (father, wife, son (7), daughter (3)) - hence the "check-in". I used two straps, vertical and horizontal and packed the other two just in case of strap failure/breakage. Luggage weighed about 35lbs to Hawaii. No strap failure/breakage and luggage was just fine. On the return flight, luggage weighed 45lbs --- had to bring back a little of paradise. Again, straps were in tact, no failure/breakage of any kind. Needless to say, there was no need for the extra two straps I brought, but wanted to be prepared. Therefore, my rating is 4/5 stars only because I feel the straps warrants further usage/testing to fully gain a 5 star rating. Wish I had pics to show, maybe on my updated review.The straps weakest link would be the plastic buckles and adjustment retainer. Given this, I made sure that the straps were snugged enough that there is very little play - not so tight that all the pressure is on the buckle. Also, I moved/placed the buckles away from the edges of the luggage to lessen the changes of direct impact when the luggage is thrown --- we all know that luggage are thrown/handled very brutally. Hopefully by doing so, this will extend the life of the straps. Hope this helps!Worked for international travel. Good price, not the sturdiest... but great for the price.I am five feet tall and weigh 116 lbs. My partner in the moving was 5'5 and weighs 182lbs so with that we move a refrigerator from the house to the curb which is two steps down and 40 feet to the curb. Only had to stop once due to my asthma. Easy! I purchased a set for my son as he just moved to a new house and probably will used these a lot. No, he can not have my set to borrow they are MINE! lol Enjoy!I bought these for our trip from the USA to the Uk.They were very vibrant/bright and made our luggage stand out from all the others! We positioned the buckles to take the least amount of bashing about from the luggage being thrown about but as we bought a pack of four, we took the spares with us ‘just in case’ for the journey home but they held up perfectly! They didn’t twist around or loosen off at all, were in exactly the same position as when we had put them on. Would recommend these!Love colors, security having bag straps, easy to find my bags. Downside is that rough luggage handling snapped the plastic fastener on two separate trips. Try to position the fastener where it won't catch on the conveyor belt, etc. this only happened on my largest 50+ lb overstuffed bags where it was stretched to the max. Perhaps I should pack less? I just bought another set.We got them to help us pick out our luggage and they work great for that. We also used them to hold a car seat to a piece of luggage so I didn’t have to carry it, and it held.Thankfully I haven't had a need to use them- But I keep one in each of our luggage just in case it breaks while we are traveling I'll have this to close our bag. Also used the awesome tip from another reviewer- I used a black sharpie marker to put our initials on the straps so no one could take them.Trip to the Caribbean. Tough wrapped secure. Bright color made it easy to spot.
