This journal is the perfect size, the perfect number of pages, the perfect quality, and the perfect color (I chose the dark purple). A truly fun way to DOCUMENT your travels, a truly lovely way to REMEMBER your travels!The first page is where you create your own table of contents - numbering each of your trips. A digital file with pictures that correspond to the journal trip number seems like a good idea as well. The table of contents page is really the only page that is not visually appealing in the entire book. It certainly is not enough to mark a star off the rating for this beautiful book, perhaps it is just barely worth noting.The first two writing prompts for each trip are to be filled out ahead of time. I think that is a wonderful element added to the journal! Filling out in advance your expectations and your must sees for each trip helps to build excitement even further, and is a nice comparison for after the trip.The writing prompts help you to think of important and special things that could easily be overlooked and forgotten, such as “what do you remember feeling, seeing, touching, smelling, or hearing?. There is also plenty of room to write extra information on plain lined sheets. 3/4 of a page for each trip leaves space for a photograph. My first thought was about the work involved in getting a photo from each trip printed, but then I took a step back to when that used to be common place, and how nice it would be to pick the most special picture from a trip to be pasted into this beautiful journal. Of course, there is the option to put anything else in that space as well, like ticket stubs or other small momentos.The paper is of excellent quality, with a somewhat glossy sheen, that is so pleasing. Being spiral bound, the pages lay completely flat, making it easy to write in. If you can part with this journal, it would also make an excellent gift!All in all, this travel journal is just beautiful and an excellent value.
