You can find it on the state’s license plate and even on a bag of potato chips. I first came here on a chilly morning just before sunrise. In my search for a promising angle and good lighting, I started to go down the stairs towards the beach. On my path was a middle-aged couple cuddled together under a blanket looking out towards the ocean. I smiled inwardly and discreetly backed away to let them have their moment uninterrupted. Returning later that day at sunset, I was pleased to discover a colorful glow on the lighthouse and leaning shadows that brought out its distinctive features.
